As a visitor, I want to browse Backcountry goods and gift certificates without needing a paid membership.

What the app should do

  • Persist current products, variants, price/currency, media references, source facts and goods-certificate distinctions. Cart interaction can remain local; this increment does not create live order/payment/fulfillment.
  • Make the HOL-operated Shop available to Visitors and signed-in customers without paid membership.
  • Distinguish goods, issue products and one-time goods gift certificates.
  • Provide cart quantities, order review and simulated completion.
  • Link to the common membership selector; do not treat goods certificates as gift memberships.
  • Link customer purchase history to planned D109 and address/payment settings to D108/D107 when delivered. Existing catalog/cart/preview does not create an actual order, receipt, shipment, saved payment method or membership bill.

Shop

Public-content reads are available for dev review; full story acceptance and stakeholder approval remain separate. Follow the navigation and review what is available; some feature steps remain incomplete.

  1. 03Browse Shop and select Add to cart on Embroidered Skier Logo Beanie or another item. In Your Shop cart use Add one / Remove one to adjust quantity.
  2. 04Select Review order, inspect Your selection., then use Back to Shop or the local Confirm order preview. No real fulfillment or payment service is connected.
  3. 05Use Memberships to return to subscriptions and gifts. Store gift cards buy Shop goods; they are not membership-gift redemption.

What needs to be supported

How to verify in dev

  1. Verify published-only anonymous projection, no private/protected payload, stable IDs and links, missing/unpublished records, empty/loading/error UI, and no silent static fallback. Idempotent seed rerun preserves edited records; authenticated/dummy Home entry remains unchanged.
  2. Browse Shop signed out, compare product/variant facts and use current cart review without a real purchase.

  • Use Explore brief → Signup & upgrade tests for account-transition tests; it preserves separate sample data.
