Review and approve sponsored placements

Start from HomeReview as Commercial manager
User story
As a commercial manager, I want to prepare sponsored placements and track editorial approval so I can coordinate partners within editorial guardrails.
Draft requirements for review · Updated 2026-10-19
What the app should do
- Prepare partner records and sponsored-placement proposals, including disclosure and intended placement.
- Submit the proposal for separate editorial approval and track its returned status.
- Do not self-approve, publish editorial placements or claim that independent sample modules form a connected approval workflow.
- A public organization profile is a separate D083/D084 record linked by stable organization ID when a commercial relationship exists. Public listings can be non-sponsors; contracts, contacts, negotiations and reporting stay private.
- Proposed profile facts may be supplied through D084; editorial publication and commercial placement approval remain distinct decisions. An affiliation alone is not a sponsorship label or endorsement.
What to check in the demo
Follow these steps from the role’s landing page through navigation and feature checks.
Choose the Avery Chen dummy account and open its assigned Commercial manager Home without a password or authenticator prompt. This dev-only Home review does not verify MFA or unlock protected staff actions. Use your own provisioned staff account and authenticator when reviewing those actions.
Navigation from sign-in
- 01Open the fictional Commercial manager account through the connected sign-in service. Seeded Home review opens directly. Real HOL staff access and protected actions require an authenticator check.
- 02On Commercial manager Home, select Placement proposals.

Placement proposals
A partial role preview is available. Commercial manager → Placement proposals and Editor → Sponsored placement review support sample review/submission and approval/request changes; sample partner records and reporting are available. State is not shared across these role workspaces and publication integration remains incomplete. Review the current sample controls, then treat remaining checks as planned acceptance. Public people and organization pages are available; this operator handoff remains incomplete. Backend implementation is on hold.
- 03Inspect the sample proposal and its partner/disclosure context.
- 04Select Submit for editorial approval and check the local sample status.
- 05Return Home and inspect Partner records and Partner reporting.
- 06Record the missing connected Editor decision, placement preview and publication handoff; review the Editor side separately.
- 07Once D083/D084 exist, compare a non-sponsor organization page and a disclosed partner page with the private partner record; confirm public fields omit contacts/contracts and public listing alone does not approve a placement.
Backend work for this feature
Requirements only · Backend implementation on hold
What needs to be supported
- Reference canonical organization IDs from private partner records; project only separately approved public fields and explicit approved sponsorship disclosures, never private commercial data.
How to verify when implementation is approved
- Inspect public directory/profile/search responses for a linked partner and non-sponsor; verify no private contact/contract/reporting leakage or inferred sponsorship.
Before this can work
- Choose the Avery Chen dummy account and open its assigned Commercial manager Home without a password or authenticator prompt. This dev-only Home review does not verify MFA or unlock protected staff actions. Use your own provisioned staff account and authenticator when reviewing those actions.
