HOL editor
A Backcountry or HOL editorial staff member responsible for the trust and quality of published work. The product directive calls for editorial programming and control; the app's exact staffing and publishing process are unconfirmed.
Primary goalMake strong work discoverable across the product while protecting attribution, context, and editorial independence.

A path through the work.
A proposed sequence from the working persona. Access, approvals, and handoffs still need HOL review.
Create or import one canonical content object
confirm credits, topics, places, media, and access
review and publish
program Home modules and collections
connect related creators, groups, and events
review proposed sponsored expressions and labels
correct or retire content with a record of the change.
What could get in the way.
Editorial control without engineering work, reliable previews, rights and attribution information, clear separation of sponsored and editorial material, and authority over what appears as official Backcountry content. Review public organization facts and reciprocal affiliations; publish a specific approved revision, correct or unpublish it, and keep creator credits and private partner data separate.
Role relationship.
Proposed editor permission in the working model. Moderation and commercial permissions should be assigned explicitly rather than assumed. D084 proposes separately assigned organization publication authority for the demo; real staff scope and policy need HOL confirmation before connection.
What this rests on.
Home programming and canonical content in Howie's directive, and commercial guardrails in Product Strategy. Andy’s October16 public people/organization profile direction; see public profile scope.
Working hypothesis; not a finding from member interviews or an approved production role.
What we need to learn.
Existing editorial workflow, publishing ownership, title-specific differences, and who approves or labels partner-supported content.
