User story
As a paid member, I want to find stories from the Backcountry archive so I can use decades of trusted editorial knowledge.
Draft requirements for review · Updated 2026-10-19
What the app should do
- Browse/search24 archive works with distinct native destinations: four existing works plus20 original fictional articles.
- Open Decision Line installments2–4, related reading, story kits, saved field kits and named place/event-preparation articles without loops or inert links.
- Keep public/member access behavior and readable long headlines on narrow phones.
- Document fictional content provenance in this Brief. Product reading has no repeated demo callouts; no historical publisher-content migration is claimed.
- Use the active Paid member role fixture for member-only actions. A free account or a professional identity does not supply paid access. The review identity is a genuine local account; another account’s checkout state stays separate.
What to check in the demo
Follow these steps from the role’s landing page through navigation and feature checks.
Paid member
Start here: HomeBegin on the paid Member Home. Use the Paid member demo role or Casey Bennett in Try a demo account, then select Member in the account/workspace menu if necessary. This creates a genuine local session with a seeded no-charge test membership; it does not upgrade a different account.
Navigation from sign-in
- 01Open the fictional Paid member account through the connected sign-in service. Seeded Home review opens directly. Real HOL staff access and protected actions require an authenticator check.
- 02Scroll to the Home footer and select Stories under Explore to open the story archive.
Feature checks start here
Story archive
Ready for frontend review in dev only; original fictional content, local discussion and genuine local account access. Content/discussion are local previews; historical catalog migration is not included.
- 03Browse the archive and try its search or browsing controls.
- 04Open The Quiet Between Storms and read its distinct story view.
- 05Return to the archive and open A Different Summit or another work.
- 06Confirm each work has its own native destination. Content is fictional demo material documented in this Brief; product reading intentionally has no repeated demo callouts.
Before this can work
- Begin on the paid Member Home. Use the Paid member demo role or Casey Bennett in Try a demo account, then select Member in the account/workspace menu if necessary. This creates a genuine local session with a seeded no-charge test membership; it does not upgrade a different account.
- Current fictional editorial/discussion fixtures in dev and the sample-account review controls; no real credentials or service connection.
No prerequisite story has been confirmed. The setup above describes the content or decisions needed.
